The brothers of the Chi Lambda Colony actively partake in many student-led organizations on campus. Below is a list of the organizations that our brothers are involved in:
The 2008-2009 academic year at UCSD marked the beginning of the Chi Lambda Colony's first year of competition for the IFC sports banner, a contest in which fraternities compete against one another in a variety of sports and are awarded points based on their performance. Considering our relatively small size during some of the first events, we have been highly competitive in nearly all of the sports we played.
Rankings 2008-2009
Rankings aside, we have made the most of our opening year of competition by solidifying a reputation for ourselves as an extremely athletic group of men that will provide stiff competition in whatever sport is at hand. Throughout the year, as our numbers have grown, we have become increasingly competitive in many areas, and this trend will continue into next year's competition. Everyone is already looking forward to the 2009-2010 season, especially Gamma and Epsilon classes, when we will be able to field larger rosters and continue to improve our status as young, talented athletes at UCSD.
The Public Relations Committee serves as an oversight for the Chi Lambda Colony's campus and community involvement. Its main objective is to ensure the quality of the bonds and relationships we create and to promote a healthy professional and social image. Phi Gamma Delta strives for excellence in all that it does and we try to adhere to this principle by holding ourselves to the highest standards as gentlemen. The men of the Chi Lambda Colony understand the importance of a good reputation and its influence on membership, recruitment, and the overall success of the fraternity.
The Chi Lambda Colony this year has become one of the first fraternities at the University of California at San Diego to join the fledgling organization Greeks Against Sexual Assault (GASA). By participating actively in GASA, the Chi Lambda Colony has maintained and advanced FIJI's image as true gentlemen. The information and training received from GASA has given our colony members the appropriate knowledge of services available if a fellow brother or peer is personally affected.
